Answers below:

How is your charity unique?

Ohel Sarah is one of its kind.  It does not just group special children together but treats and looks after each child with its unique needs and requirements. We offer a diverse range of therapies, activities whether physically, socially, emotionally and culturally.

How do you choose your children?

The children choose us.
By word of mouth and recommendation through community, family members and professionals we get chosen.  We never refuse a child.

Up to what age do you cater for?

We cater for the young and old.  The older children are now adolescents and adults.  Sadly their mental capacities do not develop as ordinary children.  We grow with them.  We have Beit Shai & Beit Zvi for young men who are now in their 30s and 40s.  The same holds true for the ladies at Beit Sarah, Beit Channah and  Beit Matti.  These are sheltered housing which are home to over 50 residents 24/7 for 365 days a year.

The younger children are also looked after on a daily basis in special centres including Beit Shai, Merkaz Shlomo & Beit Hanoch

In all we look after 190 children

What input does the government have in your charity?

Sadly due to the Middle East Conflict and situation in Israel the Government cannot prioritise our needs.  Therefore we are left to raise the deficit and push for further growth.  This obviously is a tremendous pressure on the local and wider community.
