About
Kishurit is a day center that provides adapted employment, social activities and medical and rehabilitative treatment such as physical therapy, occupational therapy and emotional treatments for the women enrolled. Additionally, Kishurit provides a wide range of workshops and enrichment classes, such as art, Gymboree, baking and ceramics. The professional staff creates an individualized advancement plan for each woman in order to help her reach her potential in all areas – including the medical, social and personal spheres.

In a Nutshell

The professional staff at Kishurit is dedicated to make each day productive, enjoyable and encouraging for the women, so that every day at the center is a day with meaning and value for an optimal life in the community. The professional staff creates an individualized advancement plan for each woman in order to help her reach her potential in all areas – including the medical, social and personal spheres.

Special Projects

The need for a game room was identified by the staff while observing the women in the late afternoon hours; after a day of work, therapies and social activities, they prefer a calm, soothing activity that does not require many physical, mental or emotional efforts. The game room provides the perfect solution, as it offers a wide range of games for each woman to choose, in a variety of levels. Whether its is assembly games, memory games, matching games, motor skills games or calculation games – they all offer an hour of quiet private time at the end of the day. The staff is on hand at all times to provide assistance and guidance.

We have undertaken to turn the daily meals at Kishurit to a joyful social experience,
as we invest in our students’ ability to gain maximum independence during
mealtime. In this program, our staff assists the students in recognizing and choosing their own
preferences, expressing their needs and creating social interaction during the meals. The program is adapted to the physical abilities and eating equipment of each
woman and encourages independence and self-sufficiency. Additionally, the program utilizes the Alternative Augmentative Communication Method to enable easier inter-personal communication.
